[BUSINESS] It Was First A Dream...Now Its Becoming My Reality --- Baby Steps

Climbing up a mountain is a journey and I have been climbing for a while in my life. Today, something just clicked in my head and I said---I am going to go harder with my dreams.

So my start up is almost registered via Google. I hate to share these type of things with people, but I just feel that maybe my lurkers on this site will know that if I can become a full fledge actress, writer, entrepreneur, and emerge myself in my love of global culture. You can too.

[ACTING] Cast in My First Atlanta Project

I need to get the proper terms for being "cast" in a project. Is it "casted" or " cast"? I have no clue. Well, after being in Atlanta for a week, I was just notified that I have been casted in a play in the city. This is cool. Its a small role, but its doing what I love. I am excited to get the rehearsal schedule later this week. In addition to this project, I have two auditions this Saturday, and I booked two for Feb already. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities.

I have been blogging 3 months now and I have been so blessed to just write daily about what I love. I am working hard to turn a $ profit with my passion for global culture. 

Oh, I am in NYC for the Annual United Nations Members Day Conference Feb 11th. This will be my first meeting at the UN headquarters in the US, and I am excited!!! 

[MY LIFE] My Mom Made My Day

I will never forget January 24, 2011 for as long as I live. My mom called me today from NC to see how I was doing, and she said, " So how are your auditions coming along". That made my day. In my family, acting is a hobby, not your career. However, I love acting, and today it just meant the world to me that my mother acknowledged that fact. Her words touched my heart more than she will ever know. I guess its official, *official*. I am an Atlanta-based actress. Some parents will never understand the power of their approval. I am over the top strong, but for my mom to give me her approval w/ my career choice. That was priceless. Well, I am off to make things happen for my dream life!  

[THOUGHTS] On Staying Prepared

I have 4 auditions this weekend. Last night, I went to one and the Casting Director told me something that I knew, but I have not done yet. She told me to always have a monologue memorized. I am thankful for her reminder. The show that I auditioned for was a reality show, so she let me do improv during the audition...but she hit home with something that I need to always do...stay prepared. So if you are reading this and you think you have it all together, check again. Are you all the way prepared to meet your next opportunity? After my Friday night audition. I have had my reality check, and I am preparing to "stay" prepared.

[THOUGHTS] Make A Way

I told a dear friend today that I wish my parents would've told me to "Make A Way", each time I thought of defeat!!! Well, this is my internal motto for 2011.... Make A Way. Let's see how much my life improves this year! I can feel it :)

[MY HAPS] Upgrading My Online Entities!!!

Gosh--- when I say I have been working like crazy to upgrade my online blog logos, websites, and media kits and more. I have been working! In the midst of that I have booked two auditions! One for this Saturday and then one for next week. I am on a roll.

[NEWS-BUSINESS] GCS Brands

In addition to my acting and all, I am a business owner. Its a start up business and I am working my way through it all. I am very scared of where my business owner journey is taking me. Yet, I am determined to serve with my passion of Global culture and global citizenship. Its a daily journey for sure. Right now I need to fix my business plans bplan and etc... I've invested a lot of time with my business and I will keep on pushing. I am praying that next month I can feel confident enough to begin talking to people about the services that I offer. I am just so happy that I am no longer in the sane position I was this time last year.

I started my business journey last March with a visit to my nearby SCORE office in Cary, NC. So, its interesting that I am where I am today. God willing, my energy level stays up and I can work and get my site up, and get ready for an awesome year with my acting, business and humanitarian efforts.

I am excited to announce that I will be lending my talents and service to Atlanta's High Museum of Art's Special Events Committee and the Atlanta chapter for Girls on The Run. I am excited to move to Atlanta and get settled in with my business, acting, and my social circle.

[NEWS-ACTING] Local Commercial Shoot in Wilmington, NC For Ectera Media

I shot a commercial for Evergreen Behavioral Center in Wilmington, NC on Wed. Oh my gosh it was beyond cold in Wilmington, yet---I was doing what I love, so it was not that bad. I was cast to play a teacher, a one liner :) The thing that got me about Wilmington was that there was no hotel near the airport! That is insane. Oh well there are worst things in the world. I'm just happy I was able to book an acting gig that's useful. The completed commercial will assist the center with getting new clients.
